PANJIM: Lifeguards have conducted 35 rescues across the State at various beaches and waterfall.

30 lifeguards of Dishti Marine were involved in these rescues, some of them going into the sea more than once to bring people back to the shore for safety.  Lifeguards attributed the rise in incidents to the festive weekend and the end of the monsoons and added that they remain on high alert.  A large number of tourists have arrived in Goa already.

“While the weather improves the sea is still slightly rough with undercurrents. Visitors are advised to listen to the instructions of the Lifesavers and take guidance on safe areas to swim. It is critical to not swim after the consumption of alcohol. Please maintain social distancing norms on the beach and stay clear of congested areas,” said Drishti Marine.
