QUEPEM: With heavy rainfall lashing the State past few days, in one incident lightning strike one Mahadev Arjun Gaokar’s house, at Mavling Kale in Sanvordem, on Friday evening.
Mahadev said he suffered damage of around Rs 6 to 7 lakh in the incident.
According to Mahadev, a family of five members were relaxing in the house when the lightning strike around 5 pm. The house was damaged along with the electrical appliances, a two-wheeler, four-wheeler, which were parked outside the house but luckily no family members were injured.
The affect of the lightning was such Mahadev brother’s house, which is 100 metres away also suffered damage due to short circuit. Brother Prakash said he suffered losses of around Rs 1 lakh.
