PANJIM: Lions Club of Candolim hosted the Region Meet of Region I, of Lions International District 317 B at Anantya banquet hall, Mapusa under the leadership of Region Chairperson, MJF Lion Sneha Chorge.
Chief Guest and key note speaker for the Region Meet Prof, Raghuveer Vernekar, ex. Chairman of Goa Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education spoke on the theme ‘Lead the change’. Referring to the quote of Mahatma Gandhi “You must be the change you wish to see in the world”, he emphasised, “We are the ones who can bring the change in the world.”
He lauded the service activities carried out by the 10 clubs in the Region.
District Governor PMJF Lion Erle Britto appreciated Region Chairperson MJF Lion Sneha Chorge for guiding the Clubs of her Region in conducting meaningful service activities to the community.
A Region Directory was released on the occasion.
Prominent citizen from Candolim, Rajendra Haldonkar, a Divisional Officer of the Fire and Emergency Services was felicitated for his meritorious service.
