BELGAUM: Excise officials arrested two persons from Andhra Pradesh and seized Goa-made liquor and a vehicle worth Rs 4.5 lakh.
Acting on a tip-off, officials of the State excise under the directions of Joint Commissioner of State Excise Prabhudeva intercepted the vehicle along the Bauxite Road.
Sources said 44 boxes containing 396 litres of brandy were seized from the vehicle (AP-10-J-0080). Rangnath Gouda Veerugouda (30) of Thimmapur, district Kurnool and Chandrababu Venkatswamy (35) have been arrested.
Excise Deputy Commissioner Merunandan and team carried out the raids. The details about the source and supply point were, however, not available.
