PANJIM: The flow of liquor will be further restricted as the liquor traders have decided to shut their businesses from Thursday protesting against the alleged harassment by excise officials.

A press note issued by the President of Goa Liquor Traders Association Dattaprasad Naik, states that the shutdown will continue till the elections on March 3.

“A total shutdown on liquor traders is due to ongoing harassment on very minor issues by excise officials and the flying squads in various constituencies”, the press note reads.

The Association has called for a meeting of its members on January 27 to decide future course of action.
