PONDA: The Excise officials seized liquor worth Rs 2.75 lakh at the Mollem check post on Wednesday.
The tempo, which was proceeding from Goa to Karnataka, was seized for illegally transporting 78 cases of liquor at around 3.45 am. The said liquor was concealed under the soda crates.
However, the driver managed to escape. The vehicle owner is said to be from Telangana. The Excise team was led by Excise Inspector Rohit Dessai.
