Liquor worth Rs 20 lakh seized in raid

In a major raid, Goa Excise officials seized liquor worth over Rs 20 lakh from an illegal factory at Shelim-Loliem, a few kilometres from the State border.
One accused has been nabbed in this connection, while the prime accused managed to flee from the scene.
According to Superintendent of Excise Navnath Naik, who led the raiding party from the head office and local Excise Inspector Shamba Naik, the raid which began at about 11 am on Saturday will continue late into the night, till the entire seized stock is documented and taken into the custody of the Department.
Several packed bottles and pouches of different types of liquor, including brandy and whiskey with brand names, were seized from the illegally operated factory at Shellim-Loliem
