PONDA: A truck carrying illegal alcohol from Goa which crossed Mollem and Anmod checkposts was finally caught by Ramanagar police during the wee hours on Friday. The police officials have seized the truck and around 2500 litres of alcohol has been seized. The total contraband is valued at Rs 52,50,000. The police have also arrested truck driver Kataballi Nagachari from Telangana.
Ramanagar PSI Basavraj Mabnur and other police officials under the guidance of Joida PI Nityanad Pandit inspected the truck, where at first they found few boxes of biscuits. After checking inside, they found 140 boxes which had 2500 litres of alcohol bottles. The truck was on its way from Goa to Hyderabad.
