PONDA: Live power lines hanging overhead, along the widened road, near the junction at Baythakhol-Borim are posing danger to vehicles passing by. A few days ago, one truck’s tyres were burnt after the vehicle had come in contact with a live overhead power line. Fortunately, the driver was not in the truck at the time. Therefore, the heavy drivers are demanding that the power department take necessary measures and remove the overhead power lines from over the road.
Due to the widening of the road, heavy vehicles are parked in the area at night and drivers sleep along the roadside. Since power lines are not visible at night, there is a possibility of accidents if wires come in contact with the heavy vehicles.
Necessary measures need to be taken to prevent the truck from parking in this area as the warning ribbon which was put by the contractor for road widening has fallen to the ground.
