Live wires leave two hurt

VASCO, JULY 14 Two persons were injured when they came in contact with live electricity wires in two different incidents in Mangor Hill and Vasco on Tuesday. According to sources in 108 Ambulance Service, one Pal Velli (54) of Mangor Hill sustained burn injuries after he came in contact with live electricity wires when he was on rooftop of his house to check cable fault.

Two persons were injured when they came in contact with live electricity wires in two different incidents in Mangor Hill and Vasco on Tuesday.
According to sources in 108 Ambulance Service, one Pal Velli (54) of Mangor Hill sustained burn injuries after he came in contact with live electricity wires when he was on rooftop of his house to check cable fault.
Velli was rushed to Chicalim Cottage Hospital, from where he was referred to GMC Hospital in Bambolim in critical condition.
In the second incident reported in the heart of Vasco City, one Sayed Shaifudin (23) was injured when he accidentally touched supporting wire of the electricity pole.
Shaifudin was shifted to Chicalim Cottage hospital and was later referred to GMC Hospital.
Meanwhile, port town faced constant power breakdowns since Tuesday morning due to heavy wind, as incidents of trees uprooting were reported in many places.
