CALANGUTE: Demanding the immediate removal of mini shops along the Calangute-Nagoa-Parra road, Calangute legislator Michael Lobo has directed the local panch Sakharam Naik to clear the area.
It may be recalled that Herald had highlighted the mushrooming of mini shops on the road widening areas along the Calangute-Nagoa-Parra road.
Lobo confronted the owner over the mini shops and stated that the structures on the road widening area would pose a threat to life and property.
The MLA also directed the owner to immediately remove all the mini shops.
“How many shops are you putting up on the road widening areas and where will you arrange parking facilities for customers visiting your restaurant? Lobo bluntly told the shop owner.
The shop owner pleaded for more time, but Lobo refused to pay heed to his request.
