PONDA: One local from Kasawada, Talavalim had a lucky escape when a trimmed tamarind tree uprooted and crashed on a four-wheeler which took the weight on its rear side. The man was working behind the vehicle and was only camouflaged by the dry branches.
According to the Fire Services in-charge Sushil Morajkar, the incident occurred at 11.30 am on Friday. Bystanders claim that the tree came down without much noise which prevented the local to hear it coming down. He suffered minor injuries.
