VASCO: Locals from Sada, Vasco have demanded for a speed bump (a ridge set at intervals in a road surface to control the speed of vehicles) on the highway citing difficulties faced by students and their parents while crossing.

Former deputy chairperson Shanti Mandrekar, social workers Shankar Polji,  Jayesh Shetgaokar,  Umesh Mandrekar and others have submitted an appeal in deputy collector’s office regarding the same.

The national highway was inaugurated here in February and the road from Varunapuri to Sada and Mormugao Port was opened for traffic.

“The authorities need to build speed breakers near Prince Bakery, Pednekar Godown and near the road leading towards the tunnel before any unfortunate incident takes place,” said Polji.
