PANJIM: The much debated issue of Margao and Ponda Outline Development Plan (ODP) will be heard by Goa Lokayukta Justice P K Misra on December 26.
The preliminary inquiry would formally commence from December 26 into a complaint filed by Advocate Aires Rodrigues and Margao based activist Jose Maria Miranda over the controversial ODP for Margao and Ponda prepared by the   South Goa Planning and Development Authority (SGPDA) headed by Dabolim MLA Mauvin Godinho who recently joined the BJP.
The Lokayukta has already issued notices to Mauvin and Member Secretary Ashok Kumar.
Lokayukta has directed Kumar to produce all records including the records relating to consultations on the ODP held with the Margao Municipal Council and the Ponda Municipal Council.
The Member Secretary has also been directed to produce the records relating to issuance of notice to all members of the SGPDA for the meeting held on December 15, 2016 and subsequent meetings if any held thereafter.
Alleging massive corruption by the SGPDA in trying to illegally and hurriedly approve the ODP for Margao and Ponda, Adv Aires Rodrigues has pointed out to the Lokayukta that in an act of gross maladministration and with vested interest, the ODP was sought to be approved contrary to law without proper consultation with the local bodies.
