CANACONA: The Loliem-Polem gram sabha approved a budget of Rs 2.90 crore on Sunday.
A 15-member committee headed by the Sarpanch Ajit Lolienkar was formed over complains of drilling of illegal bore wells in the jurisdiction of the panchayat.
Earlier, the issue of drilling of an illegal bore well by a petrol pump owner in the cover of darkness at Polem had come up for discussion and it was reminded that the panchayat in 2008 had passed a resolution that drilling bore-wells within the jurisdiction would not be permitted.
The gram sabha members asked the panchayat not to issue licence for mega projects.
