MAPUSA: Long queues of vehicles were witnessed at several petrol pumps in Mapusa and Porvorim on Thursday evening after a fake message claiming that there will be shortage of petrol and diesel in the State was circulated.
The fear of shortage in fuel forced people to rush to the nearest petrol pump to fill their vehicles with fuel. Meanwhile, a petrol pump dealer from Mapusa told Herald that rumours of petrol and diesel shortage were circulating on social media. The Mapusa based fuel pump owner denied the rumours that the State is facing shortage of petrol and diesel. He said that the rumour of shortage of fuel is leading to unnecessary chaos and queues across various petrol pumps in the State. Huge lines of two and four-wheelers were spotted at various petrol pumps.
