MARGAO: Leader of Opposition and Margao MLA Digambar Kamat on Wednesday took serious note on the missing files from the Margao Municipal Council (MMC) and stated that strict action should be taken against the concerned officers.
He also suggested the chairperson of MMC Lyndon Pereira to move a note before the Directorate of Municipal Administration immediately.
Margao MLA further suggested to the head of the civic body not to keep pending any file for more than eight days.
“Being a MLA and elected representatives we are responsible for the people of Margao. It is the duty of the civic body to give good services to the citizens. People will ask us questions about the assurances given at the time of elections. Give time bound service,” said Kamat.
Reacting to the issue of missing files from the municipality he expressed frustration and suggested to take strict action against the concerned officers if involved in hiding the files deliberately.
Councillor Damodar Shirodkar, besides Sagun Naik and even Chairperson Lyndon Pereira brought this issue of missing files before the Margao MLA, upon which Digambar said that earlier they had also broke open the cupboard in search of files.
“The missing of files and creating unnecessary difficulties before the citizens are not fair,” said Kamat.
