Lotoulim church sundial damaged by miscreants

Miscreants vandalized centuries old sun-dial located in front of the Saviour of the World Church at Loutolim last night.
In his complaint lodged with the Maina Curtorim police station, Parish Priest Fr Jorge Pazzi Fernandes pointed out that some miscreants damaged the Sun Dial on the night of June 5.
He said the Sun Dial happens to be a historical and astronomical monument installed in the village by the ancestors for the benefit of people who wanted to follow the time.
Fr Fernandes has requested the Maina Curtorim Police to depute the police to carry out the necessary panchanama and take necessary action to book the culprits.
Meanwhile, Loutolim Sarpanch Jose Fernandes also lodged a complaint with the Maina Curtorim police demanding action against the miscreants.
The incident evoked shock and agony amongst the local villagers as the Sun Dial had been standing in the Church Square since the last four centuries and half.
Surprisingly, when contacted, the Maina Curtorim Police said the police have registered a non-cognisable case against unknown miscreants, even though the Sun Dial was considered a historical and astronomical monument.
