Margao: The Loutolim Panchayat has demanded strict action against the persons intercepted dumping garbage at the SEZ land near missing link road areas.
The Sarpanch has written to the Maina Curtorim Police, the Collector, GIDC Verna Industrial Estate, GSPCB, and also the MLA of Nuvem Wilfred D’sa demanding criminal action against the culprits dumping garbage caught by villagers.
Besides the driver two persons were apprehended by the villagers before the vehicle of garbage could be unloaded. On questioning the villagers were informed that all of them were employees of one contractor from Vasco, for collecting and disposing the wet waste collected door to door in Sancoale Village Panchayat including Zuarinagar. The persons also admitted that the said wet waste collected from Sancoale on a daily basis was regularly being dumped at the present above stated site. The vehicles along with the culprits have been detained by Maina Curtorim Police.
Sarpanch Tony Vaz has demanded that an FIR be registered under relevant of IPC against the culprits.
“I request for appropriate action against the said culprit regarding the dumping of Waste. We also have video evidence if the police require the same we are willing to share it” he added.
