Loutolim P’yat requests stability certificate for old Borim bridge

MARGAO: The village panchayat of Loutolim, which has sided with local farners in opposing the Goa government’s proposed route plan for a new Borim bridge, has requested a copy of the stability certificate for the current bridge. Loutolim Sarpanch Joana Fernandes stated that this decision was prompted by ongoing debates about the necessity and feasibility of the proposed new bridge.

The move to seek the stability certificate aims to gather crucial information about the condition of the existing Borim bridge. Fernandes told O Heraldo that some villagers, especially farmers,  are of the opinion that there is no need for a new bridge, especially at the cost of their fertile khazan lands.
