PANJIM: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) State president and MP Sadanand Shet Tanavade on Thursday said that candidates for both Lok Sabha seats will be announced by the party’s Central leadership after the poll dates are announced by the Election Commission of India (ECI).
After chairing the party’s State executive committee meeting at Panjim, Tanavade said that executive committee meeting was convened to inform the State leadership about the decisions of party’s national officer-bearers meeting held at Delhi on December 22 and 23. He said that candidates for ensuing Lok Sabha polls will be declared by the BJP Parliamentary Board and the election committee.
Tanavade also spoke of a countrywide initiative of the BJP wherein one party leader will go to each village in the country and stay there for 24 hours.
The State executive committee also unanimously passed a political resolution congratulating Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the victories in the recently held Assembly elections and the double engine BJP government in the State completing 11 years in power. It said that the Sawant government is working on the principles of Antyoday, Gramoday and Sarvoday striving hard to create Swayampurna Goa.
The State government has been actively working to restore and rejuvenate 164 water bodies across Goa under the Central government’s Amrit Sarovar project. The State executive meeting also congratulates Chief Minister Pramod Sawant-led government for being pro-active and committed to the welfare and well-being of Goans.
