PANJIM: Apologizing for the past deeds of the Congress government, Goa Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) President Luizinho Faleiro alleged that the amendment to the Agricultural Tenancy Act was “to help projects like Tiracol at the cost of Goans.” Faleiro asserted that it was the only reason the amendment was made.
He said the BJP in Goa is opting for a Gujarat model as the policies of the government are pro-corporate, anti-people and anti-Goan.
“Now it is Tiracol, what next we don’t know. Goa is one of the highest tax-paying States in the country and the government policies are making people unhappy,” Faleiro said.
He apologized for the past misdeeds of the previous Congress government and party leader for allowing projects in Tiracol. “I am apologizing for the mistake and even they should also apologize and join their hands,” Faleiro said when it was pointed out that the process for the Leading Hotels project at Tiracol was started during the Congress tenure in Goa.
