PANJIM: Former chief minister and Rajya Sabha Member of Parliament Luizinho Faleiro on Tuesday strongly denied rumours about him quitting the Trinamool Congress Party and rejoining the Congress.

Reacting to the news going viral on social media platforms, Faleiro said that it was absolutely false and there was no iota of truth in it. He appealed to the people of Goa not to believe in such rumours.

The Rajya Sabha TMC MP was recently in the news and the party’s former senior vice president and former MLA Farrel Furtado appealed to the party members not to fall prey to some leaders trying to humiliate Faleiro to resign by resorting to disciplinary action and vested stories.

She has appealed to Faleiro not to resign and instead expose the outsider and disciplinary action against those trying to stoop to destroy the TMC in the State.

Faleiro was elected as MP of the Upper House in November last year and within a year he took up more than 40 popular issues mostly concerning Goa in the Parliament, which according to Furtado, had hurt and threatened the Bengali leader.
