Luizinho Faleiro launched “Zadachem Fest” or Vanamahotsav in his constituency
by distributing 2000 coconut saplings, 500 Mancurad mango grafts, 300 guava,
1000 shankar gulmohar, 1000 duranta saplings along with some saplings of
tamarind and bayo plants.

Launched under
the theme “Each one Plant one” Luizinho said it was the sacred duty of every
citizen on Goa to leave for the next generation what they had received from
their forefathers in terms of green Goa. “Today we are eating the fruits of the
trees planted by our parents and hence we should plant trees for our children
and grandchildren to eat the fruits he said.

Yesterday he
distributed plants to people at the Housing Board area near the Maruti temple
and also carried out tree plantation in the compound of the higher secondary
school where places of worship of the Hindus, Catholics and Muslims exist.

This morning he
distributed plants in Navelim and Telaulim and in the evening distributed them
in Aquem Baixo and Davorlim Dicarpale area.

While the fruit
bearing trees have been provided by the Agriculture Department, the flowering
trees have been brought from the Forest Department.
