Luizinho should think responsibly: Vijay

Goa Pradesh Congress Committee general secretary, Vijay Sardessai has said that Congress Working Committee member Luizinho Faleiro should think responsibly before making any utterances on returning back to state politics.
He said that Faleiro’s statement should not be a cause for destabilizing the Digambar Kamat government or the Congress party.
Declining to comment on whether Faleiro will contest the polls from Fatorda or not, Sardessai said he is one of the few defeated candidates who has actively continued working for the people in Fatorda since the last three years. “Faleiro is a senior Congress leader and can contest from anywhere, including Margao, Navelim and Fatorda. But, the high command gives the ticket after a study. Fatorda congressmen will tell the high command who is strong in Fatorda and who will win the seat”, he added.
Meanwhile, the Fatorda Block Congress Committee has ridiculed Luizinho Faleiro’s attempt to enter Fatorda’s political ground by saying “Congressmen in Fatorda don’t need rejects from other constituencies to teach them politics”
 Taking strong exception to Faleiro’s sudden love for the scheduled tribe community the Fatorda Block Congress President Joseph Silva, himself from the S.T community has in a press note said that the scheduled tribe community of Fatorda has not forgotten Faleiro cheating the S.T’s by not doing anything for Floriano Vaz, the first martyr of the Konkani agitation who was from the S.T community and who was shot by Gujrati State Reserve Police force during the height of the Konkani agitation. Luizinho Faleiro extracted maximum mileage from Floriano Vaz’s martyrdom but did nothing to honour his sacrifice for the last 25 years, he added.
“Now that GPCC General Secretary Vijai Sardesai and PWD Minister Churchill Alemao had taken the lead to have a memorial for Floriano Vaz at Gogol, Faleiro had suddenly emerged from nowhere and was trying his luck to gain entry in Fatorda’s politics by using the ST card”, Silva claimed.
He said the ST community has not forgotten Faleiro’s constant support to destabilize and weaken a fellow ST Luis Alex Cardoso during his stint as the former MLA of Fatorda constituency.
