Luizinho to raise issue in Rajya Sabha of political reservation for Goa STs

PANJIM: The delegation of ‘Mission Political Reservation for Scheduled Tribes of Goa’ has been assured by Luizinho Faleiro, MP, Rajya Sabha of raising the issue at the Upper House soon. 

A delegation met Faleiro at his residence and submitted a representation regarding reservation of seats for Scheduled Tribes in Goa Assembly. It may be recalled that Luizinho Faleiro had earlier raised this issue in upper house of the parliament on April 06, 2022 demanding reservation of seats in Goa Assembly for Scheduled Tribes. 

During his speech in parliament, Faleiro had highlighted how Scheduled Tribes of Goa being denied of their constitutional right as enshrined under Article 330 and Article 332 of Constitution of India. The delegation thanked him for raising this issue in the parliament and once again requested him to bring this to the notice of the upper house and demand for reservation of seats for Scheduled Tribes in Goa Assembly. 

Faleiro assured that he would once again raise this in the upper house of  during the upcoming session and assured his full support to intensify this movement in Goa if the demand of ST Community is not fulfilled. 

The delegation comprised of Adv John Fernandes, Rupesh Velip,  Govind Shirodkar, Joseph Vaz, Herculean Niasso, Joycee Dias,  Jose De Areal, Francisco Colaco, Mahesh Kunkoliekar, Caitan Carvalho, Constantino Faleiro and Ravindra Velip.
