PONDA: The much awaited delicious Olmi or mushrooms which are in high demand in State Friday hit the Ponda Market, with several buyers running to pick up the delicacy.
After heavy rain, there was dry spell which helped Olmi pluckers to move in the forest.
The vendors said several hours are required to search of mushrooms which grow on anthills. The prevailing rates range from Rs 700 to Rs 1000 and above depending upon the size and quality of mushroom. While those who could afford rushed to buy, the common man felt it too costly and beyond his reach.
