Madel locals clean own water logging point

With the Margao Municipal Council going slow in the pre-monsoon works, residents of Madel on Wednesday took upon themselves the responsibility of clearing the vital water logging point in their locality at their own cost.
With the help of heavy machinery, the residents dug up a drain along the clogged culvert opposite the Rebello hospital. This area was water logged last year, literally submerging the entire KTC road.
The day-long operation also saw the residents clearing the waste and garbage from a chocked nullah near Paulo Travels office.
Moreover, waste was also cleared from the water outlets near the wholesale fish market at Madel.
