PANJIM: Ahead of his entry into the BJP, Cumbharjua MLA Pandurang Madkaikar on Tuesday morning met Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar. Madkaikar, along with hundred odd supporters, will join the saffron party on December 22 after resigning as MLA and from the Congress. The meeting reviewed the preparations for the Vijay Sankalp rally to be held at Old Goa on December 23. “Today I held a meeting with Manohar Parrikar. We discussed about joining the party and he also took stock of preparations for the Vijay Sankalp rally,” Madkaikar told Herald. Interestingly, BJP Goa desk in charge and Union Minister Nitin Gadkari will be in Goa on Thursday. Asked for his reason for leaving the Congress, Madkaikar said the party has no future under Luizinho Faleiro. “He (Faleiro) acts like a dictator. His policies of North Indian States (where he was in charge) cannot work in Goa. The political situation changes in every State. Here, I don’t see any efforts from Congress to build up the party organisation and to ensure its win. Congress has no future left and being a young politician, I would prefer to be part of a party which can give a stable government,” he said.
