PANJIM: Maharashtra is inviting Goan industrialists to setup their units in the newly established Adali Industrial Area which is located on the border taluka of Dodamarg.
Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC) held an Investment Promotion Business Conference in Goa’s capital city, Panjim on Sunday.
Speaking to the media on the sidelines of the conference, senior Shiv Sena leader from the Konkan region and Maharashtra’s Minister of State for Home (Rural), Finance, Planning Deepak Kesarkar said, “Most of the human resource comes from my district to Goa. As part of the incentives we will provide 100 percent refund of SGST.”
On the question of the kind of industries that MIDC would be interested in being set-up by Goans in his State, he said, “We would like Goan industrialists to setup an extension of their existing businesses in Goa. We welcome all kinds of non-polluting industries.”
Responding to the MIDC offers, Goa Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI) President Sandeep Bhandare said that due to shortage of land, the industrialists would look forward to the opportunity.
“Goa is a small state and we have shortage of area for industrial use. Till the time SEZ areas are provided for industrialisation, I think this would be a good opportunity for Goan industrialist,” he said.
Adali Industrial Area (AIA) has been established in the Adali village of Dodamarg taluka in the Sindhudurg district of Maharashtra, which borders Goa. The AIA has been established over an area of 288.53 hectares of land.
According to the MIDC officials, the Maharashtra government has envisaged that no application for a new industry should remain pending for approval for more than 7 days, luring more and more investments by providing dedicated power supply lines and substantial water supply.
