Maharashtra teen held for assaulting Russian tourist

PANJIM: Anjuna police arrested a 19-year-old youth from Maharashtra for allegedly stalking and assaulting a Russian lady in Arpora. 
Aspak Muzawar, from Akkalkot area of Maharashtra, has been arrested by the police for stalking, assaulting and abusing a Russian lady while she was walking along the road on May 15. 
A major search operation was launched and based on the description of the bike which the accused was riding, the police tracked down the culprit, a senior police official said.
The police only knew that the accused was wearing a white cap and had a white wrist watch and were told that he could be either an Indian or a Nigerian and hence police checked the owners of around 600 blue coloured Aviator scooters to track down Aspak, who was hiding since the incident.
The accused is originally from Akkalkot, Solapur but is currently residing in Goa, police said. 
In her police complaint, the lady stated that the accused who was riding a bike stalked and slapped her, before fleeing.
She said the accused offered her lift, and when she refused, he slapped her. The victim is about to leave for Russia this weekend, police said.
The complainant, through media, had expressed her displeasure towards the slow progress of the case.
