BICHOLIM: Mahila Congress has strongly demanded that the Chief Minister look into the problems of the affected truck owners and has extended support to the agitation.
Speaking to the media, Mahila Congress president Sunita Verekar said that mining affected people had high hopes in the government but it has failed on all fronts.
“The CM through recent statements has insulted the mining affected people. During election time they come with schemes and packages but later forget their promises,” Verekar said.
She also denounced the lathicharge by Bicholim police on the agitating truck owners and extended her support to the truck owners.
“We are in support of the truck owners and drivers who have lost their daily bread and it is the responsibility of the government to resolve the issue,” Verekar said.
