Mahila Congress president opposes opening primary schools

MARGAO: The decision of opening schools for tiny tots when Coronavirus still prevails is simply ridiculous, said Beena Naik, President Goa Pradesh Mahila Congress committee.  Reacting to the circular issued by the Education Department pertaining to offline classes she further said  “The circular itself says that COVID cases are reducing day by day. This itself shows that COVID is still prevalent and how can the Education department ask kids from Standard I to Standard 4 to attend the classes?” she questioned.  Beena aske if the said the competent authority have taken the opinion of PTAs and management of schools. “I strongly oppose the decision of opening schools for Primary Classes for the reasons that small children are more susceptible to infections. No matter how much precaution parents may ask their wards to take in the schools, yet they are kids. Did the Education department give a thought of how serious the kids will be in following the Covid precautions? Are primary schools well prepared for sanitising the classes regularly? What if the child is a carrier of the infection? Who is ready to take the responsibility?” she further asked.
