MARGAO: Deputy Chief Minister Chandrakant Babu Kavlekar on Friday along with the freedom fighters inaugurated the full-year celebration of India’s Independence Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav, at Lohia Maidan.
The country-wide celebration has been started by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant in the State.
The Deputy Chief Minister amidst Director of Art and Culture Ashok Parab, and South Goa SP Pankaj Kumar Singh assured that the people, who really need the help, will benefit from the programmes that will be held as part of the celebration. “We will try and reach to all the people,” said Kavlekar. Four freedom fighters were felicitated at the function.
