Maimolem locals thank MLA for new road

VASCO: People from Maimolem and Mormugao belonging to various communities have thanked the Vasco MLA for having facilitated the building of a tar road leading to a Kabrastan, a temple and a chapel in their area.
For the last 35 years or more, people from Mormugao using the kabrastan, visiting the temple and chapel were facing hardships due to the incomplete road.
This walkway is being used by people of Mormugao for the last several years to reach the burial ground and the other two places of worship.
The Muslim community of Mormugao are the most indebted as they have been facing hardships to reach the burial ground due to absence of road here.
“The completion of this road gives us immense happiness as now we won’t get caught up in mud while coming to the burial ground. We thank the Vasco MLA Carlos Almeida for taking up the proposal and making this road a reality, said Mohd. Yusuf Peerzade of the Al Quadria United Front.
One of the committee members of Wadeshwar Damodar Devasthan at Maimolem Shailesh Govekar said, “There is religious activity here during weekdays and during rains the road gets totally washed way preventing people from going ahead. This road will help people to access the area easily now.”
