MARGAO: The Maina-Curtorim police have obtained a three-day police remand for Nilesh Vernekar, who was arrested in connection with the recent firing incident in Ralloi, Curtorim. Additionally, the police have added the charge of attempted murder against him.
While the investigation is ongoing, the police have recorded the statement of a minor boy who was present in the verandah of the house when the shots were fired. However, they have not yet identified the other two individuals involved in the crime or traced the car used during the incident.
To recap the incident, three individuals arrived in a car around midnight and fired three shots at Carmina Fernandes’ house.
Following this, Nilesh, who owns a security agency, was arrested. It is believed that the gunshots were fired due to a property dispute, and the investigation is continuing.
