A loaded truck veered out of control, crashing into a nearby compound wall at the Betki Khandola bypass junction on Tuesday evening. The force of the collision was significant, resulting in severe injuries to the security guard who was on duty at the time of the accident.
The incident, which unfolded suddenly, caused substantial damage to the truck and the surrounding area. Locals rushed to the scene immediately to attend to the injured guard and swiftly transported him to the Betki Health Centre for urgent treatment.
Sanju Kundaikar, a local resident, highlighted the pressing issue of a hazardous junction in the area. According to Kundaikar, frequent accidents occur at this spot, emphasizing the longstanding need for a properly designed traffic circle. Despite previous requests, no action has been taken thus far. While acknowledging the presence of speed breakers, Kundaikar pointed out their placement far from the junction, rendering them ineffective in addressing the immediate safety concerns.
Kundaikar earnestly urged the authorities to promptly investigate the situation and take necessary steps to address the issue. They stressed the urgency of this matter to ensure the safety of everyone navigating through this junction.
