PANJIM: The opposition Congress has demanded that the government must make public details of persons from Goa, who were given letters of appointment as part of the PM Rojgar Mela at Panjim on Saturday.

Goa Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) president Amit Patkar said that educated youth in Goa want to know about the selection process adopted for selecting candidates in various government departments to whom letters were handed over by Union Minister of State for Tourism Shripad Naik and Tourism Minister Rohan Khaunte.

“I have come to know that some persons are recruited for Postal Department. What has happened to the seven postmen who were suddenly retrenched from services after working for eight to 10 years?” he questioned. “Let Goans know details of all the selected candidates,” he said.

According to Patkar, those persons who were working on contractual basis are now given letters of permanent appointments. If this is true than it is not giving jobs, it is just regularising the services, he claimed.
