NAVELIM: Goa Pradesh Congress Committee President Luizinho Faleiro took time off to relax for a while as the curtains came down on the campaign for the Assembly elections.
“Going by the pro-Congress wave that is sweeping Goa, I am confident we shall get a majority to form the next government,” he said pointing out that he has to plan to honour the promises so that his name and image is not tarnished.
He is looking forward to working with this young blood, which according to him, will give new dynamism and direction to the party and the new government that will be formed.
The biggest challenge for the Congress though is to build a team for the 2022 elections. The frontal organisations and the blocks strengthened during this campaign need to be fuelled with new members and constant guidance
He pointed out that 65 percent of the Goan electorate consists of people below the age of 35 and thus the State is young and looking for young politicians to address their concerns and issues which are of a totally different generation and at times beyond the comprehension of the older politicians.
For many of the senior leadership this is likely to be their last assembly elections. Getting a second line leadership there will be crucial.
