Porvorim police on Thursday morning retrieved a male body floating in the Mandovi River near the workshop of River Navigation Department at Betim.
A police team led by PSI Sagun Sawant went to the site and fished out the decomposed body and later sent it to the Goa Medical College hospital for an autopsy.
Police have flashed wireless messages to all police stations in the State in a bid to identify the body.
