The buses participating in the day-long strike call given by private bus operators on November 22 will have to lose their permits, the Transport Ministry warned today.
Transport Minister Ramakrishna Dhavalikar today said that those buses going off-road on Monday will not be spared. “We will view their action very seriously and cancel the permits,” he said.
All Goa Bus Owners Association has given a call for strike on Monday alleging harassment by Kadamba Transport Corporation Limited and state government’s lethargy to solve their grievances.
Dhavalikar said that state government, in past, has agreed to the demands of private bus operators.
“When they asked for a bus ticket hike, we granted. We asked them to form a society so that their issues can be solved,” the minister said.
He said that state government has no hesitation to resolve the grievances of private operators, if they reciprocate properly.
The minister warned that after the strike, the permits will not be reinstated. “We will put Kadamba buses on those routes,” he said.
