A woman working in the cememtry noticed the body lying deep in the open marsh besides the burial place. She then informed the priest of the Church and the committee was called immediately.
Margao Police Inspector C L Patil said that the body is possibly that of a labourer and there are no visible injuries or injury marks on the body. An inquiry is initiated to determine the real cause of the death.
The body has bee n referred for post mortem investigations, the report of which is awaited. Police are further investigating the case.
Police are trying to establish the identity of the deceased and also trying to piece together how he happened to come to the place where he was found dead.
