PANJIM: Former Governor of the then state of Jammu & Kashmir Satya Pal Malik was on Sunday sworn-in as the Goa Governor in a ceremony at Raj Bhavan, Dona Paula. Malik replaced Mridula Sinha, who completed her five year tenure and was relieved last Friday.
Chief Justice of the Bombay High Court Pradeep Nandrajog administered the oath of office amidst presence of Chief Minister Pramod Sawant, Ministers Vishwajit Rane, Michael Lobo, Govind Gaude, Leader of Opposition Digambar Kamat and others.
The 73-year-old was thereafter given the guard of honour. Before the oath taking ceremony, Chief Secretary Parimal Rai read out the warrant of appointment issued by President Ram Nath Kovind.
