PANJIM: Trinamool Congress Party (TMC) supremo and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee will be arriving on a three-day visit to Goa on Thursday evening ahead of the 2022 Assembly polls.
According to TMC sources, Banerjee will arrive in Goa at 5.30 pm on Thursday.
Banerjee’s maiden visit assumes importance as the TMC has decided to contest all 40 Assembly seats. The party had already roped in former Chief Minister Luizinho Faleiro, who has been also appointed as party’s national vice president.
During her Goa visit, Banerjee will discuss election strategy with the local leaders and organisational set up and meet intellectuals and professionals.
There are also reports that some prominent political leaders would join the TMC in her presence.
The TMC leaders on Wednesday finalised the itinerary of Banerjee’s visit. It is learnt that the TMC supremo may also participate in a road show in the State and will leave Goa on Saturday evening.
