Mamlatdar inspects fishing at Marcaim

PONDA: The Ponda Mamlatdar team on Thursday inspected the controversial fishing activities being carried out in Khazan field at Marcaim. It may be recalled that the residents of Caranjal-Marcaim had submitted a memorandum to the Ponda Mamlatdar stating that some people were carrying out fishing activities in Khazan agricultural land by stagnating saline water, which entered their fields through the damaged Bundh.

On Thursday, the team of Ponda Mamlatdar’s office consisting of head clerk Janvi Kalekar, circle inspector Jayprakash Gavnekar, Talathi Devidas Bhomkar and field surveyor Anita Shirodakr conducted the site inspection and the inspection report will be handed over to the Ponda Mamlatdar.
According to the residents, wells and other water resources in the village are polluted.
They demanded to repair the Bundh that has been breached so that saline water doesn’t enter the fields. They are also demanding with the authority to prohibit fishing activities in Khazan paddy field.
