Man critical after snakebite

A 27-year-old man from Sadolxem was bitten by a snake late Tuesday night and was reported to be in critical condition.
According to sources in Canacona Community Health Centre (CHC), Anthony Menezes, an in-patient (for some other ailments) in CHC was discharged only Tuesday afternoon, but had to be brought back to the hospital after he was is bitten by a snake at his residence in Sadolxem.
Unconfirmed sources at CHC informed that even though the type of snake is unknown, heavy doses of poison was identified in Menezes’ body and was shifted to Hospicio in Margao in critical condition.
According to sources, Menezes was bitten on his hand in the toilet and added that blood reportedly oozed out from the snake bite.
A 108 ambulance rushed to Sadolxem and brought Menezes at the CHC, where he was reportedly put on medication, but seeing no improvements in his condition and on checking the amount of poison in his blood, he was shifted to Hospicio past 10.30 pm, informed sources.
