MARGAO: Fondu Vaiz, 65, resident of Gaval-Khola, Canacona died as he fell off from a mango tree while plucking black pepper on his farm at Mollorem near the Ganapati temple.
Canacona PI Harish Raut Dessai while ruling out any foul play said a case has been registered under Section 174 of CrPC as unnatural death.
He said enquiries with the family members revealed that he fell off the mango tree in his plantation and was initially taken to the South Goa District Hospital, Margao.
However, he was then referred to Goa Medical College and Hospital, Bambolim, where he succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment.
