In a first fatal accident on the new Zuari bridge, a
61-year-old man lost his life while his wife was seriously injured after being
hit by a car driven by a tourist on Sunday. Meanwhile, fatal motor vehicle
accidents have seen a steady rise this year with 46 road accident deaths
reported in Goa since January 1.
A whopping 404 accidents have taken place in Goa in just
over one-and half month and 46 persons have succumbed. This amounts to nearly
one death per day.
