PONDA: Santosh Vaman Kadekar (48), a resident of Bonaye Velcas Savoiverem died on the spot after his scooter was hit by a speeding car, on Sunday. The scooterist was crushed between the car and a roadside retaining wall.
The accident took place at around 12.45 pm at Dupe Savoiverem near KRS junction.
His wife Anita Kadekar (42), who was pillion riding, suffered serious head injuries and was shifted to Goa Medical College (GMC) and Hospital. The car driver Lumo Palkar has been arrested by Police for rash driving.
According to police, the victim was proceeding to Savoiverem on his Activa scooter with his wife and when he reached KRS junction main road at Savoiverem, he collided with a Swift car. Santosh died on the spot due to head injuries.
It is learnt that Santosh was an employee of Electricity Department office at Curti. His wife Anita is a social worker with Matruchaya.
