MARGAO: Camilo Pereira, 47, and a resident of Curtorim, tragically drowned in a lake near a local chapel where he had gone for a swim around noon on Wednesday.
According to Maina-Curtorim police, Pereira left his home at 11.30 am amidst warnings against venturing into the deeper sections of the lake while swimming.
His body was discovered floating in the lake around 4 pm. PSI Gaurav Naik, accompanied by police personnel, locals, and fire service personnel, retrieved the body from the water. Pereira is survived by his wife and two children.
